Chemo and Herceptin

I started EC X 6 in August 2019 three weeks after last EC I had first of 18 Herceptin so followed a three weekly cycle for about 15/ 16 month finished them in Jan/Feb  2021 . Then bisphosphonate infusions every  6 months hopefully finish in Dec this year .

Can understand the need for heart scan as Herceptin can cause some people a problem although it is reversible . Luckily I was fine

It seems there’s nothing regular about the format on how treatments are given! (My friend who is at same Stage as me but diff county had chemo first then mastectomy, I had the other way round but were both starting radiotherapy around same time). Hence the way your treatment is determined is likely to be honed to your requirements and nothing more. It appears not many run in the same process. Oh and heart scans are normal to keep a check on drug related issues. I hope you sail through chemo but be aware of side affects and jump on them quickly or contact the unit if something doesn’t feel right. It’s important not to ‘suffer’ in silence!  I wish you the best..time really does fly!  See Irishgirl16 blog on here….
