I have just had my first 12 month mammogram and all was ckear. Had ultrasound on breast due to swelling. Seems this is caused by changes in the breast following radiotherapy whichI had las September. Has any one else encountered this? It can also be quite painful at times.

  • Hi

mine is recent radiotherapy 3 weeks ago. but I still get twinges in back shoulder blade. Plus I’ve a small lump on my scar underarm where they removed sentinel node. Think this may be scar tissue but I’m going to get it checked

  • I have aches in my shoulder blade and upper chest following radiotherapy. I had my mastectomy in December and had no pain to speak of, but since radiotherapy, which finished over a month ago, I get the odd twinge, it’s not too severe but it’s there! Think  we’re all a bit paranoid about aches and pains, but I guess it’s to be expected considering it’s quite aggressive therapy! xxx

  • Hi Mazz

i get slight numbing pain and the odd shooting pain but nothing too bad. Hopi g this little lump is just scar tissue x

  • Yeah, that’s exactly it! Shooting pain, it goes as quickly as it came. I have numb spots all over my surgery site, but I think the nerves are healing here and there, again, causing strange sensations around my whole chest. I have a small lump too, but I’ve been told it’s irregular scarring. Boobs are a strange shape to sew up, so to to be expected I guess xxxx

  • Oh the joys of surgery.
I’m guessing any twinge or slight difference will be more noticeable now.
onwards and upwards hopefully now x
