Hi everyone, I hope that you are surviving this heat! I was wondering if anyone has been diagnosed with a low thyroid count and who is/isn’t on Tamoxifen? My reason for asking if that I started chemotherapy in July 2020 and had a lumpectomy, chemotherapy, a mastectomy and radiotherapy followed by my kidney being removed last February (due to a separate kidney cancer primary) I am still struggling with fatigue, weight gain, low mood, and bowel problems plus I now have a prolapse which came to light after the kidney op-joy! My GP says my bloods are normal but I am getting them done agai for possible thyroid problems…It’s hard to work out want symptoms are post treatment related, Tamoxifen related or due to my ever expanding waistline and difficulties exercising! Thank you in advance for any support/advice!

  • Like you I had difficulty working out which symptoms were related to which treatment.  I was very tired and cold all the time with low mood and the breast cancer consultant wanted to change my Letrozole for Tamoxifen to see if I felt better.  At the last minute my GP tested me for low thyroid and it was very low.  Taking Levothyroxine sorted it out (you gradually build up to your regular dose), no side effects so I wouldn’t worry if that’s what it turns out to be.  I had mastectomy and lymph nodes out but now it’s returned more aggressively in the other side so I’m starting with chemotherapy.

  • Thank you Two hearts I am so sorry to hear that it’s come back and more aggressively too PensivePensivePensive I hope that you tolerate the chemotherapy and it can be all taken out Heart️ Are you in the Flat Friends group on Facebook?
