Hi All, I was wondering why I had a punch biopsy on breast and unfortunately started Googling!! I read that punch biopsy is used for diagnosing inflammatory breast cancer….is this true? Now I am really petrified as I am waiting for the results of biopsy. I believe ICB is a death sentence!!! Help!!!
Hi @DS38, I’m not medically qualified so can’t say much. I think Punch biopsies are used to diagnose various conditions involving the skin. Did they use the word ‘punch’ - it’s just that a core biopsy does sound like a paper hole puncher or loud stapler going off. It flipping made me jump the first time I heard it. I’m sorry if this is no help to you.
I’ve had 4. No problems had lumpectomy and reduction in March, 5 rounds of radiotherapy and taking tamoxifen. All done and dusted.
I am doing nothing but worry!!! The people on here always appear to be so positive, I so hope that I too can be like you strong lovely people. Xx
