Well! I went to put a skirt on yesterday and zipped up it slid down past my hips and onto the floor! Didn’t realise how much weight I’d lost since chemo, (done 4 of 6 on a 20 day basis), obligatory diarrhoea and the rank taste in mouth forcing me to reduce food intake. Have spent today trying everything on and temporarily (I hope) discarding jeans, trousers, skirts, shorts, joggers. Spent afternoon on eBay buying second hand clothes to tied me over…anyone else noticed a drastic weight change?!

  • Definitely noticed a weight change, but upwards! I just constantly ate during treatment, never felt full. I’m 9 weeks since my last chemo and one week since last radiotherapy, so I’m trying to cut down, but it’s not easy. Im sure your appetite will return after treatment, don’t worry too much about it. All the best xxx

Hi there! Hanks for the reply. I was always slim(ish) around size 12 and could eat for England but since chemo and that that awful taste in mouth I can’t eat much so am down to size 8. Only up side is nice slim thighs!! Bras hang round my waist and forget the Breast prosthesis! I found it round my bellybutton when I got undressed last night!!

  • Hiya

I've had surgery, radiotherapy and tamoxifen and have lost 1.5 stone since February. It's the only upside of the chaos of the past 6 months! ;-)

I put it down to nervous energy, stress, and general feeling of nausea due to tamoxifen.

  • Morning Tavares

chemo has made me lose weight but I couldn't tell you where as my clothes don't feel any bigger I'm sure it's down to the horrid taste and weekly 2-3days of diarrhoea but every week when I get weighted there is a steady 2-3lb drop if I was on a diet it would be wonderful but I'm not sure the NHS would recommend chemo for weight loss though hope things soon sort themselves out for you sending hugs xxx

Chemos as bad as dysentry!!!!! great weight loss but doesn’t make you feel good!!  Laughing

  • Similar I have 2 days of radium left and have been on tamoxifen for a month. I’ve lost about 1.5 stone. But I have started eating a lot more over last week.
I totally think it’s the stress levels that dropped my weight
