Hair cut post chemo & cold cap?

Hi - I finished chemo a month ago - I used the cold cap and it worked well, a bit thin on the crown and my hair is fine anyway so looks a bit thin overall too. Was thinking about getting it cut a bit shorter to try and make it look thicker - or is this a waste of time given the patchiness & fine regrowth on the crown??
I used to also get it highlighted but am thinking I need to wait a while for that? Any advice anyone?
thanks!

  • Hi, I am so glad you managed to keep your hair, I start my chemo on the 25th of July , EC.

i delayed it for a month because before my diagnosis I had booked a holiday with my very large family, the oncologist said this was ok.

I am going to try the cold cap, I hope it works !

I believe Aveda do none chemical high lights which are very gentle on your hair, maybe have a consultation when you are feeling up to it.

wishing you well on your journey.

    1. I had cold caps and kept about 50 pc of my hair. It's in a short bob and now 3 months after finishing chemo I have about an itch of thick hair and then the longer part is thin . Only option is to wait for it to grow or have a really short cut. I'm waiting for it to grow in and will keep having the short bob till it catches up.  I've used semipermenant colour on.my hair and it's been okay.
