Morning All, I hope your all as well as can be expected. So had my OP 13th May for a Recurrence Breast Cancer. OP was a great success, need Radiotherapy and was advised by BC Nurse and Consultant no Chemo this time but will discuss a trial of a PARP Inhibitor. Went to see Oncology yesterday and I was totally left devastated, no trial but have got to have Chemo. So having Nab-Paclitaxel (Abraxane) and Carboplatin. Has anyone had these chemo combination? If so how have you been? Xx

  • Hi, so sorry to hear you now have to have chemo, that must be so frustrating when you thought you wouldn’t. I had TCHP, and I know I was lucky and found the side effects quite manageable, but we're all different and respond differently.
I blogged throughout, you might find it useful

So sorry that you went away with the thought of avoiding chemo and now have to have it BUT! We’re all diff and each of us react differently to the drugs. I’m on Docetaxel and Carboplatin (done 4 of 6) and I hate them with a vengeance but only for first 7-10 days after. Then after effects fade. Always remember the reason we have to go through this …it’s a positive means to an end. Wishing you best of luck. X

  • In my experience, Abraxane was a lot easier to go through than AC but it was no picnic either. If your previous experience is with AC or EC, then you may be surprised for the better.
