HELP, I'm on day seven of first cycle for breast cancer and it feels like ants are crawling over my scalp, it is very unpleasant. Is that the start of hair loss? I can't find much about pre-hairloss pain or sensitivity. Thanks
Hi, you are right that this is an indicator of the chemo affecting your hair follicles. Some people wear a soft bamboo hat to stop the hair moving around so much, as that can make the feeling more uncomfortable. Some cut their hair shorter, though that was not for me. Although it is not nice to lose the hair on our heads, it is very convenient not to have to shave legs and armpits for months! Hope it settles down and isn't too uncomfortable. I seem to remember that tenderness going after about day 8 in the first cycle.
