So things are looking better, I have been given pregabalin as my was getting out of control.

Only early days taking it so see how it goes.

I'm on the pax chemo now weekly got 3 more rounds to go , it's better then the EC but still don't like it.

I'm eating better , drinking more, constipation is under control.

Had my oncologist appointment today and will be having radiotherapy a month after Chemo, someone is phoning me to speak to me about the treatment & booking me in.

Was told today I have strong hair follicles.

I have all my body hair except head ,& armpit which I found bizzare, I've been waiting for it to go, I do wonder if I will be saying goodbye to it soon.

I'm slowly getting back into me art with the help of a therapist.

Looking forward to more sun , & drawing, Blush

  • Hi

I'm glad to read that things are beginning to get better for you. I'm just about to start EC, 3 cycles, and will then have paclitaxel so it's beginning to feel a bit scary now I've got a date! Any tips on what to expect or how to combat side effects would be gratefully received!

I noticed that you said you were looking forward to getting back to drawing and wondered if you knew there was a group here called express yourself which is a space for anything creative. If you'd like to take a look just click on the link I've created.

  • Hi,

Every one is different on chemo, EC is hard chemo drug they told me , I found it very difficult couldn't eat properly &  in bed for about a week , had sickness on 2nd EC.

    Kept getting UTI .

Keep a thermometer with you to check temp .

They give you white blood cell injections to boost them ,they can make you feel flu like. They also give you Antisickness drugs, & steroids.

For me it was antisickness for 5 days, steroids for two.

I would say drink plenty of water, , this is a must.

if you can eat food try soft/ bland food food to begin with see how you get on .

I had chicken and rice for dinner evening  before chemo.

I always limited my food intake on the day of chemo , tried to eat ,toast, mash, fruit throughout the week , day 5 I had stew, ( this was because I felt so awful)

Pax is better, no white blood cell injections, until you actually need them .

Feel more normal on it .

You can get a reaction to this one so they give you antihistamine before hand, they give you a  steroid if you do have a reaction.

    Hope everything goes well.

  • Thanks for the tips . I have bought a thermometer in readiness and plenty of cans of soup in case I don't feel like eating. I must remember to drink plenty of water as that is something I don't really do at the moment although I do drink tea and coffee.

Did you do the injections yourself?

  • I didn't do the injections as i have a phobia of needles, my mum & boyfriend did them, you take them for 7 days .

They did give me an injection that I just take once , although it was stronger it was easier to have ,but side effects were stronger .

Any problems you get just phone up to the number they give you.
