Hi folks

I've noticed some hair growth, more like white fluff at the moment, but still very welcome!

Do I shave it to encourage it to come back thicker or just let it do it's own thing?

Any advice welcome, thanks

  • I don't think shaving it would make any difference to growth, only to the fact you don't have the white fluff and you'll have sharp ends to your hair so it may feel different.

I left mine to grow (for 15 months before my 1st cut) and I loved how soft it felt with those never-been-touched ends. Mine was also white fluff for a while. It didn't really take off until about 3.5 months post chemo. Eyelashes and eyebrows later.

  • Hi I just left my alone aswell, rubbed castor oil in now and again, it's now lovely shoulder length grey hair, very grateful it's grown back ok. I only use natural products with no SLS or parabens now. It's about 2 years to get to this stage.

  • That's brilliant. Thank you for the advice. I'll leave it to do it's own thing then.

All the best for the future.

  • That sounds lovely. Thanks for the advice. Natural products is a good tip. What does castor oil do?

    Good luck for the future.

  • Hi castor oil helps hair growth, eyelashes and brows aswell.  My daughter is vegan and uses it her hair is amazing. I know mine might never be as before but I get comments on it, so it can't be bad !!
