We are all in this together and I’m sorry you have a suspect diagnosis. It’s a long road and there are probably more test/consultations to come but make sure you have people around you to share the burden and be there for you. The great thing is it appears not to have spread to lymph nodes so that’s a positive. Sending best wishes for really good results..x

  • Yes its good news that its not spread to the lymph nodes. Hopefully your treatment plan will be short.

Its a very difficult time but you not alone. There is a lot of support on here as well as your family and friends and the breast care nurses are great.

    All  the best xx

  • Sorry to hear of your discovery and subsequent tests. I had a routine mammogram done, lump was found and I was called for a scan and later a biopsy. I went into hospital a month ago now and had a lumpectomy and some lymph nodes excised to check them to see if the cancer had spread. Yesterday I was told the lymph nodes were clear, that the surgeon thought they had managed to get all of the tumour out. I am going to be having radiotherapy and also hormone medication. I'm waiting for an appointment to see oncology now. What I'm trying to say Tracey Jane, is I was just as worried as you, hardly slept since having the lumpectomy because my brain was in overdrive. The relief I felt yesterday was incredible. Take one day at a time, focus on one step at a time. I found trying to see the whole scary picture was just too much for my brain to compute. There are some wonderful people on here, with a wealth of experiences, and I've very quickly learned that I'm not alone.

  • Thank you for your kind words it's just that this is the second time I have had cancer in two years i was diagnosed with anal cancer in February last year and went through treatment and came through the other side cancer free in July last year and now I have been diagnosed with this so can you understand why I am so scared

  • Hi Tracey Jayne, so sorry that you find yourself on here. It is completely understandable that you are scared, particularly with your previous experience.

Waiting is really hard, I go for walks and make myself look for positives and beauty such as bird song, the smell of a flower etc and find that this helps ease my anxiety a little.i hope that you have something that can help calm and distract you.

Wishing you all the best for your results and sending hugs Xx
