Hello, this is my first post on here and I'm hoping my fears are unfounded. I've been having a lot of pain in my shoulder for about a month and last week noticed a bony lump on the inner end of my clavicle. I visited the GP last week and she referred me for an x-ray and an urgent ultrasound. I've had the x-ray, although the results aren't back yet but today I've heard that the request for the urgent ultrasound has been refused. The GP has asked to see me again tomorrow to talk through the best approach. I was diagnosed with high grade dcis in 2016, I had a mastectomy and a diep flap reconstruction and was discharged last year.
I know that recurrence is rare but not unheard of after a mastectomy. I am very concerned that I have bone mets. I am getting intermittent pain from the lump which shoots up my neck and down into my chest. Sometimes this pain is so bad I've had to take solpadiene which I hate doing.
I feel like I'm in no man's land with no clear path to diagnosis and the possibility of a long wait. The wait is excruciating.
Has anyone else had a diagnosis of bone mets after mastectomy for dcis? How were you diagnosed?
Did you have your lymph nodes removed? Could it be cording? I also have shoulder pain, had a a clear nuclear bone scan and ct scan last October, send my surgeon has now arranged an ultrasound for next week.
It sounds like the x-ray was ok if they aren't rushing the scan? Fingers crossed for you. Xxx
