Afternoon

is any one else finding fingerprint scans don't work when you on chemotherapy I've had to rescan mine at least once a week on my phone which is frustrating as you go to confirm a bank transfers or similar were you need 2forms of ID and then have to find a different way  and if you've had same problem does it go away after you stop treatment

  • Hi,

I noticed my finger print didn't scan to unlock my phone whilst on chemo. I suffered with peripheral neuropathy in my hands and feet. All my nails lifted and came off and skin on some fingers peeled off slightly, ends of fingers numb, not affected toe nails but balls of feet hurt. I'm nearly 9 weeks post chemo and the numbness is still there but not as bad. My finger print on scan has started to work better now, still hit and miss but improving, i just put it down to nerve damage with the neuropathy. With the drugs that are pumped into our bodies to destroy the cancer it also damages and affects other things.  Give it time it should improve once you finish treatment. Hope it goes well on treatment xx

  • Thanks satire I know it's 1st world problem but that set my mind at rest that it's not just me being weird sorry to hear you have such bad neuropathy and hope it soon sorts itself

  • Goodness, I have just discovered this myself. I thought I was imagining it but just yesterday I really examined my (very painful) fingertips and think they appear to be blank and shiny! Good time to rob a bank somewhere without gloves.
