I have religiously gone for mammograms etc. And worked in the NHS (clinician) for more than 20 years. 10 June 2021 we had party here in the garden for partners birthday and coming out of lockdown (great night). 18 days later (28 June) I was in theatre first one at 0730 hours!! No lump, no pain, nothing the alien was growing into my chest wall, already stage 2 and 2.5cm, nobody any idea how long had been there, how quick it was growing, hence let's get it out of there asap! Full mastectomy (no alternative), I understood from my NHS experience the language used, got home from appointment Thursday and said can you take me to the hospital for 0730 on Monday!! He freaked out v.discretely as he went from having a fit and healthy
partner (or so we thought). I went for pre-op the next day (Friday) and spent the weekend ordering post surgery Bras etc..
Friday just gone (3rd June) we had party again and looks like becoming annual event, I am.back at the hospital on 13th for mammogram on remaining boob, wish me luck! We all have different stories to tell.
