I'm reaching out to anyone who has been offered Trazumabab injections without the chemo and was it an oncology decision or a personal choice. Thanks for any replies in advance
Hi - I was offered the injection while having Herceptin and Pertuzumab as 2 separate intravenous transfusions, as part of my palliative care treatment. The injection think trade name is Phesgo, worked well for me personally. Just in terms of the time spent in the hospital every 3 weeks on cycle. Intravenously generally it would be 3-4 hrs per visit. When they rolled out the Phesgo treatment it was offered but first discussed between myself the Oncologist and the secondary cancer support nurse, ultimately it was my decision to try it. As I was still in full time employment at the time, it suited my schedule and cut the treatment time down to around 1 hr.
Hi I initially had pertuzamab and traztuzamab alongside chemo for four rounds but since November have had this as subcutaneous injection every 3 weeks at home as Phesgo without any chemo. It was recommended by my team and I went with it. I have found it ok on the whole. I was really worried about being HER2 positive so was pleased to be able to have it.
