I am coming close to the end of my chemo and my eyelashes have got very thin (though haven't disappeared completely).  I have battled with false eyelashes but I'm not sure they're for me, or at least I haven't got the hang of it yet Grimacing! I am thinking about using Revitalash or similar after chemo to help with regrowth. I was wondering if anyone has done this or knows anything about it? Information online seems to be vague on safety and I saw one recommendation to wait 3 - 5 weeks after completing chemo.

  • I found my eyelashes started regrowing at about 4-6 weeks post chemo. I got upset because my remaining eyelashes weee falling out, but was then really pleased when I discovered the reason was that my new eyelashes were already sprouting  Was amazing how a short eyelash reframed my eyes well. I never used a serum. Hope you find the same Xx

  • I finished chemo 3 weeks ago and have been using UK Lash for a couple of weeks with no visible results yet. This product has good reviews. I was not aware of any waiting period though. If nothing happens soon I may leave it until some growth starts to appear. I will keep an eye out for any  further comments on this thread.

  • Thanks folks, I will see how I go and report back here. I have heard it takes up to 12 weeks for these serums to take effect so hang in there Queen Poppy!

  • I used UKLash about 2 months after finishing chemo as my eyelashes were so slow growing back. I don't think they made them grow any faster, but they did give me beautiful long and dark eyelashes when they had grown in.

I've stopped using it and my eyelashes are back to the colour and length they were before - much lighter and a normal length, but I just use mascara now.

I was a bit cautious about using anything at all so close to chemo, I only used water on my hair until it was about an inch long and even now, I'm only using conditioning wash and absolutely no parabens, SLS etc, all nice natural stuff.

The lashes were an exception as they were so pitiful, but I gave it a while so my skin could recover more.
