Hi , I Have watery eyes all of the time, runny nose. Started after my 2nd Chemo and seems to be a permanent side effect.
Anyone have any ideas on the watery eyes or if they have used anything to help relieve it.

Hi MichD27
my bio is on profile if you want to read feel free
I was on EC and had watery eyes and runny nose throughout . Believe it or not the watery eyes is dry eye and your unit can give you eye drops .
Cant help with runny nose I was told SE on sinus area …I felt I needed a plug to stop the constant drip
best wishes with rest of treatment
I had the same on EC - as soon as the E went in my eyes weee gritty, and I got a mild burning sensation in my nose and then it ran!
so for the eyes hypomellose eye drops can be bought cheaply from any pharmacy and you can use as often as you like. I liked opticrom eye mist. You spray on the eyelid, blink a few times and it gives a longer protective film over your eye. Sunglasses were helpful outside to avoid dust and wind irritating my eyes.
the only solution I had for my nose was tissues. It was more runny once my nose hair fell out!
Oddly it’s the absence of hair that seems to cause it!
Daughter (different cancer but an awful lot of treatment, lost her hair totally 3 times) had a very similar problem. After her chemo for a donor bone marrow transplant it affected her lungs as the teeny ‘hairs’ in her chest also vanished and they were worried she had developed a chest infection which could have killed her in days. (She’s still here!)

I had this and it is apparently due to damage to the meibomian glands in the eyelid. These produce thicker tears which coat the eye and prevent dryness. The XS watering is trying to correct this. It runs down your nose because of drainage from the eye. I was told to put on a heated pad (not too hot) on the eyes for 10mins each day, then massage both eye.ids. It helps to unblock the glands so they work properly. A pain but it works And of course the hypromellose helps xx
Onwards and flatwards (don't do hills) and keep walking if you can!
