Sorry to hear that you are struggling with your treatment. I have to say I don’t understand why your line care told you that. Have you told your BCN or oncologist about the fact that you keep getting UTI’s? I think it would be a good idea to contact your oncologist to ask what the pax chemo is for and about it’s side effects or if you don’t want to go down that road you can look it up on this site  You’ll find the information on the home page of this site under Treatment & drugs A to Z.

I phoned acute they told me to go to gp to get urine test.

Acute didn't seem concerned otherwise they would of seen me, it seems they don't check you over as I've phoned up every time to them if I think I got a UTI they tell me to go to gp.

I've told breast care team , I'm having my pac appointment tomorrow I'm just not happy I keep getting UTI , Its just ridiculous that this happens after every chemo, I keep feeling like I'm getting damaged because I keep having them, it's scaring me .

It can't be normal to keep getting a UTI everytime.

Yeah I will ask what it is for, I feel like I didn't ask enough questions in the beginning what the chemo does, & what is it actually for before I started it.

I didn't realize the extent of what it was, no one actually explained anything to me either.

I feel stupid , I feel like I've put myself in danger of getting really ill.

I've had my surgery the lump was 2cm, they MRI scan showed up just the lump , nothing else, then on my biopsy after the surgery they checked the margin it had pre cancer cells, higher grade, bigger tumor.

I've had EC ,3 cycles of it.Im actually really scared to have the pax, as I'm scared it's going to make me really ill or, something much worse, I would be permanently damaged when I don't actually need it.

It's supposed to be an add on therapy ,but I've read people wit a tumor getting the same as me which makes no sense, as I've nothing to shrink.Ive no idea if it's working, as nothing to check.The pax is supposed to be for 12 weeks , Weekly.

My body is so sensitive to everything.

I'm just so scared to the point I don't want to continue with it ,but if I quit mid way what does that mean, 

Good luck with your appointment tomorrow and hopefully your oncologist will know why you keep getting UTIs after each treatment. Easy to say I know but try not to worry too such about your further treatment, your oncologist won’t give you the treatment if it does more harm than good. Usually when they give treatment after surgery it’s to make sure that the cancer doesn’t come back again.

I'm wandering if it's to do with being put into a perimenapuse, I was reading about it, & recurring UTI, only issue is can't take anything to restore any pH balance.

Hi there,  sorry to hear your difficulties.  I had a uti after my first cycle of EC,  it was incredibly uncomfortable…my oncologist told me it’s really common unfortunately and to drink cranberry juice and to see GP for antibiotics if doesn’t ease in 4 days….just had my second EC and whilst I’m concerned now it may return I’m having more trouble with heartburn/ gut pain.  
like you I’m having 12 weeks of pax after EC,  I’ve also already had my tumour removed Aldi,  but understand it’s to mop up any possible cancer cells.  From what I’ve heard the Side Effecrs of pax are somewhat kinder than EC, so holding on to that hope.

I was never told about cranberry juice , i will ask about that.

I'm not sure these antibiotics have worked as I I've been on them for 5 half days , supposed to finish last on Tue.

You mention later on that you are in the peri menopause. I wonder if the skin in the area may be dry. Are you also suffering vaginal dryness? Vagifem pessaries have helped me with both conditions. 

I'm not sure, I'm all new to it, I was put on hormone injection to stop my hormones , 3 months ago, first infection couldn't of been hormone as I only just had it on same day as the chemo.

 I'm supposed to have chemo on  wed but if my UTI hasn't gone I'm a little worried about starting anything, until it's under control, 

All I feel is towards end of my pee it hurts, now & them after it feels like I may pee, so I'm not sure if I got weak bladder Aswell or need different antibiotics, the abdomen pain has nearly gone tho,  

Where do I get these pessaries From? 

You’ll have to get your GP to prescribe them for you.

Ah ok, Im waiting on sample they sent to lab to check , should gets results tomorrow, they did a test in the doctor's gave me something she was worried it was spreading to my kidneys , that seems to be better around my back  area now.

I'm going to get my results tomorrow , see what I can do , 

My oncologist appointment is in morning so might not get results until later,
