Hi everyone

I live in France. Just started NET - letrozole- to shrink my cancer so that they can do a lumpectomy rather than a mastectomy. My cancer is 100% estrogen 90% progesterone HER2 neg and the tumor is 4cm. It was my choice which way to go but they were really pushing for the NET. My dilemma is that I’m not coping. I ‘feel’ the cancer in my breast. I’m sad, I’m frightened and I don’t want to wait two months to ‘see’ if the treatment is working. What if it hasn’t worker, that cancer has sat there for two months, it could have spread. I know I must go back and speak with someone or take a second opinion but I wondered if anyone else has a successful NET story to tell me. NET is not chemo by the way. Thank you Pray tone2

  • I don't have a story to tell you, but I have heard of this treatment option.

In theory, if you block the hormones, the cancer can't grow as it no longer has what it needs.

Your cancer was very hormone receptive so it is likely you will see results.

Are they doing any scans during the 2 month period to check it's working?
