Really don't understand the difference on the above. Can anyone enlighten me please? Jo
Hi Gander
im not too sure but think DCIS is inside the ducts and hasn’t broke out the Idc has broke out the ducts and can move to other parts of the body. I think sometimes DCIS may never transform into cancer or become invasive. But I’m really not sure. As I was diagnosed with Idc and it’s situated in Dcis as I’ve been told. Awaiting to see if the results show it’s clear margins and no lymph nodes involved
Was confused as told Invasive spiculated, 19mm ductal Carcinoma Grade 3. Had cleR Margins, nothing in lymph nodes, but ER8 and HER2 positive. Having to have chemo, Radiotherapy plus Herceptin plus Anastrazole later. Feel like they're throwing everything at me/it!! Jo x
I had both GANDER areas added up to 55mm . I had MX first then the results from op biopsy were grade 3 , HER positive .
Told would have to have chemo before I was given Herceptin ….to reduce risk of recurrence.
Hi Gander
im going to mention it on Wednesday when I get my results. As told I have IDC and DCIs but not sure what are sizes if dcis
If my diagnosis stays the same Grade 1 and nothing in nodes or margins then it will be radium . But I’m her2-
I have put in for oncotype test too which could mean chemo if it comes higher than 25
hoping it doesn’t but my main issue at min is to hope it hasn’t travelled to lymph nodes or beyond.
trying to take a step at a time. But as soon as I get one confirmation. Im already thinking about the next.
it’s a long road and do believe I will need counselling too to get my head round this.
I was very active. Slender. But prob not a great diet and drink on weekends. So looking at all reasons. Family history of breast cancer too. My mum and aunt both live healthy lifestyles so why does it hit certain people.
it’s just a lonely situation. As no one around I know is going through this. Even though I have friends who want to talk. They don’t really want to hear. Or you kind of know they go home and it’s forgotten to a certain extent. When you sit at home and dwell.
I need to get over this mentality and fight this properly x
O had Anastrazole tablets for a month before op. Currently had 3 cycles of FEC, starting Doxetaxal on Wednesday plus Herceptin. Then Anastrazole again for several years. All to prevent reoccurrence. In my head I am cancer free now. Jo x
