Hi does anyone have an good recommendations for shampoo and conditioner I finished chemo 12 weeks ago my hair has just stopped falling out but obviously as you can’t colour it it is growing through grey and quite brittle so after some advice been using aveeno but was wondering if there is anything better
thanks x
Hiya longlegs thank you for your post, I am having my last cycle of Docetaxel tomorrow and I was going to ask the same question regarding anything that can encourage hair, eyelash and eyebrow growth. I'm surprised when you said your hair has only just stopped shedding, what chemotherapy was you on if you don't mind me asking.
I feel like mine has just started to come through again it's spiky on top and soft around back and sides, however it's very light so difficult to see.
Iv been reading about castor oil can help but I'm not sure which/what is best. Iv read revitalash for eyes is good but a bit out my price range. If anyone has any good advice that would be very helpful.
Sending you all the best xx
Hi I finished chemo 31st Jan and my hair has just stopped coming out!! I cold capped and was lucky not to lose it all but it is much thinner.
I noticed new growth in late March this is probably over an inch In length but curly and dark....It is quite a look as the rest of my hair is straight and blond.....can't wait to put a colour on!! I use simple shampoo and conditioner. I'm finding it gets really knotty and during the chemo it was a trauma combing it through each day. It's quite like baby hair fluffy!!
I lost brows and lashes which I found hard as I looked so ill....managed to pencil brows in but the also started returning late March and were very quick. One day there was nothing the next they just reappeared. I looked at revitaladh but just thought it seemed so expensive and they returned so quickly.
Xx
Hi I finished chemo in the middle of Nov 2021 and by March 2022 I was able to have a semi permanent hair colour done and I had it done again last week and all is good. I used Regaine for women for the first month post chemo to help activate my hair follicles, it worked well. I now have a short, thick pixie crop that looks like a choice as opposed to Christmas when I was still mostly bald with hair recovering. I am only washing my hair twice per week and I am using Dr Teals organic shampoo and conditioner, little light blow dry
Never been so happy to have the woo machine back in my life!
Brows and lashes I just let them come back naturally, my brows are still a bit gappy but pencil it in and it’s good and they are growing. Eyelashes too, slowly but surely getting there, wearing mascara daily Would love to do lvl or extensions but worried that it will hurt my lashes so haven’t braved it so far!
I finished chemo on the 9th Feb. I've got a great, thick covering of hair now 13 weeks later. Eyelashes and eyebrows have been back since the end of March and are just as they were pre- chemo.
I used Watermans shampooo, took Biotin supplements and did use castor oil on my eyebrows and eyelashes (all bought off Amazon) but I really don't think they made any great difference. I think a good diet is probably the best thing you can do.
Hi i used castor oil to for my eyelashes and brows I think it does help.I had paxelfol I don’t think that’s how you spell it sorry I wore the cold cap and lost a lot of hair but had a huge amount of hair when I started so although it was still falling out I was lucky enough to have no bald patches
good luck x
