Does the thought of reoccurrence ever get any better? I was hoping to have moved on somewhat but today I took a urine sample into my GP as I thought my wee looked foamy. Got a call later saying white blood cells in my urine. Geeze worrying again it’s because my cancer is now in my bladder Cry  They said it could be a UTI but I’ve never had one of them in my life.

is life always going to be like this Disappointed

Hi Gwills welcome to the forum and I am sorry to hear how worried that you are.  Can I just say to you that blood in urine usually is an infection. Has the GP sent this sample away for testing or suggested that you put in another one?  Just because you haven't had one doesn't mean that its not what that is. Are you on Letrozole or Tamoxifen at all. The main reason for asking that is that when the Oestrogen is switched off by those medications then we are more prone to UTI;s that we never had before if that makes sense?

In response to the fear of recurrence I dont think it ever leaves us totally and we do tend to relate aches and pains and strange things happening to our bodies to recurrence. However, 99% of the time it is nothing to do with Cancer.  It will improve with time bit it may  never truly leave you . xxxx

  • Hi

thanks for the reply  it wasnt blood in my urine but lymphocytes (white cells) that fight infection        or could be cancer.  Yes I’m on tamoxifen almost a year. Not really had any side effects. ICryad a bit of dizziness. I looked if it could cause UTIs but couldn’t find anything. Yes he sent my sample to see if bacteria in it.  Fingers crossed it’s not the dreaded elsewhere. My mind just goes over board Cry

  • Hi  Just wondering how you got on with your UtI? I have had 4 bouts of uti in 6 months and they have found white cells and blood trace in my urine test too Pensive I've had blood test to see if white cells are raised in that too. Will find out tomorrow Fingers crossedFingers crossed

  • Hi. Sorry I can’t really add much more. It wasn’t a uti and he said my bladder was irritated by something but wasn’t overly concerned. I did have a ct scan recently for another issue and they got my bladder in it. Nothing found on ct. let me know how u get on and hopefully b nothing
