I had a mastectomy nine months ago as I had three lobular cancers grade 2, followed by radiotherapy. At the post operative follow up I was told the lumps on the scar would probably reabsorb, but they have not, and are hard. I have also developed a concave area on the scar. Is this normal or should I seek medical advice?
Even when someone's description makes me think, "sounds normal," I always prefer it if people do seek medical advice. Ideally I'd like it if they surgeon could see you, take a look at the scar and tell you what they think. Hopefully they say it's normal, but if it isn't, you are then in the best position to have it addressed and taken care of, and it's certainly worth it for the peace of mind.
