What do people put on their scalp, during chemo?
My hair is literally has patches of spiky hair now, but I'm getting white sticky stuff on it.
I think I need to wash it more often then I do but us their a balm or something I can put on my head, I have very sensitive skin anyway so nothing with tee tree, which hazel , aloe Vera,. lavender,
I use a coconut shampoo on it when I wash it
I normally use my e45 lotion on it , ran out of Neutrogena lotion but I don't think this is helpful, or is Neutrogena perfume free lotion ok for scalp?
it dosent help by having patches that I have to keep wearing head scarfs, or hats now that it's getting Warmer,& having to wear sleep hats to bed as I have a sensitive head.
Any way to be referred to a dermatologist? My skin is sensitive too as a result of chemo, and I am still using a prescribed product both as soap and shampoo. I also have a recommendation from my surgeon to use vitamin E oil on my surgical scars, and I use vitamin E oil elsewhere too, but I would always clear that with the team first. Back to the dermatologist, she also prescribed at the time some additional lotions, again on prescription even though they are supposedly not medicated, and I am still finding these helpful, but I would not have been able to get them or even know they existed had I not seen that specialist. I want you to have exactly what you need, and a specialist seems the best way to go, if they can refer you.
Hmm, never thought about a dermatologist, when I had hair I had reaction to hair dye, took age to stop itchy head, then when I had hair did the no poo , seeemed to help but now that I've no hair it's all a bit different now.
It's Monday tomorrow I could phone up to my clinic and see what I can do,
I was given a gift of some Jennifer Young products. I used them from time to time, but to be honest, I didn’t have any particular scalp problems.
