Hi all,
I am 32, diagnosed with Grade 2 ER PR +HER- bcancer, and had a single mastectomy with an implant reconstruction on the 5th of May (Thursday). They discharged me on the same day (!), and now I am at home recovering.
I am relatively pain free but definitely uncomfortable with the drains and silly PICO pump! I managed to get some good rest last night, but still I woke up sooo tired. It is normal isn't it? I feel I should be moving about to avoid risk of blood clot (even though they gave me injections and the special stockings) but just can't find the energy to. I want to stay in bed all day! I will listen to my body and rest but looking forward to feeling more like my active self. It is hard needing people to cater for you all the time argh!
Thanks for reading xx
So sorry to hear how young you are to have suffered from this horrible disease. Your body will tell you when you’ve done too much and when you should rest up and let others help you. I stayed in bed for 3 days with 2 pumps and a pain pump so was really comfortable but utterly shattered. I didn’t have recon but was discharged same day. In time you will feel good again. Is DN coming in the measure collection in pumps?
Thanks for the reply Tavares, sorry you are in this forum too :( No, they will remove the drain on Wednesday, they just asked me to record the fluid when emptied.
The exercises are also so hard atm. I get sweaty, dizzy and nauseous when I do them!
