Hi I'm two weeks post op of my single mastectomy
Is it normal for the wound to feel very tight and burning
Hi I had same surgery on the 7th April, I'm getting less of the stinging or burning sensation now. I saw consultant last week and there was a seroma which I had suspected but it wasn't painful this was drained and arm felt less tight afterwards.
Unfortunately I think there must be a lot of nerve damage as the tightness has returned and it's very numb in areas.
Good luck xx
In my experience, yes, but I would check with your nurse anything you are concerned about. Even if all is well, she may be able to suggest ways to ease discomfort.
At my two weeks follow up my surgeon told me to use vitamin E and when I said I had vitamin E oil she told me to use it liberally and rub it in. It really helps and gives immediate relief when I use it, so I am still doing it two months on. I would recommend this very much, but only if your own surgeon allows it.
