Hello

has anyone found docetaxal easier than EC? Just looking for a little hope as I’m on day 7 of round 2 EC and just really, really struggling with the thought of another four rounds of chemo. I haven’t even had the horrendous side effects some people get….just zero energy and feel so emotionally low that it’s hard to see a way out. I think it’s steroids wearing off and I’ve tapered them this time but it was still the lowest I’ve ever felt. Another four rounds seems insurmountable at the moment. Just wondered if it may get easier. I have barely got out of bed for a week after this round and still no energy this morning. The guilt over not doing things for the kids is awful.

I found DC easier than EC . I had aching legs but only for about 24 hours. The sickness wasn't as bad it was more of a bad taste. You have a bigger dose of steroids with DC for 3 days and I asked for a reduce tapering off dose for an additional 2 days.

I had more of a problem with pegfilgrastim to increase white cells but you are probably on that with the EC.

It must be hard when you have children, mine are grown up. Do you have family to help.

im am finding the steroid come down so hard even though they let me take them over more days as less dose this time. It makes me feel so depressed. I do have filgrastim now and I’m ok for a few days then the last few make me tight chested/tired but they’ve said still carry on with 7 injections per cycle.

family aren’t close abs my partner just isn’t used to doing anything around the house and it’s causing arguments as he’s just not really picking up the slack without me asking every little thing.

im glad you found docetaxal easier. Gives me some hope. Guess by the time I know for sure I’ll only have two rounds left anyway. Feels so far away right now xx
