The most comforting thing I have learned here on the site is that I AM NOT ALONE.
I am 58, diagnosed with Invasive Ductal Carcinoma....have not had any follow up vists (will this Thursday).
What I learned here so far which is both discouraging (because I want immediate answers) and encouraging is that EVERYONE's CANCER IS DIFFERENT.
I realized I can not come here and read anyones story with similar circumstances to mine and know immediately what treatment I will have.
That was the answer I was looking for when I first logged on.....What EXACTLY is going to happen? There is no possible way to get that answer here...I was naive in thinking that I would get all the answers...it was naive of me to think that all cancers with the same diagnosis are treated the same. I have found reading here, this is not how it works.
I have read so many stories of people that have the SAME cancer as I do...but almost all of them have Drs that approach the situation differently.
What I have also learned here is that it doesn't matter WHAT kind of Cancer I have....There are a bunch of very loving, caring and compassionate individuals here.
And I am glad I have found this site.
Whatever cancer throws your way, we’re right there with you.
We’re here to provide physical, financial and emotional support.
