  • We're here for you. No one understands unless they're going through something similar. This site is invaluable Jo x

  • The waiting for appointments and treatment plans is the worst, time goes so slow. I found once I knew what was going to happen I could then start to emotionally get my head around it all, plus start to think what I needed practically. I had surgery first so had to prepare for that with bras, buying shirts and nightwear that had buttons.

Please post how you get on.

  • Thanks - I will keep in touch.

  • Thanks Jo - appreciate the support!

  • A bit up and down at the moment but hoping to feel better when my treatment plan is in place!

  • Hi

not a great journey. I was also diagnosed 2 weeks ago. I’m in for op on 3 May. It’s a horrible waiting game with emotions. But hear it gets better when you get a treatment plan sorted so hopefully will know better in a few weeks what I’m doing.
hope your mri is fine and your consultant appointment is a good one

  • My consultant is hoping to give me a treatment plan at our next appointment so I'm hoping the MRI scan is clear. I have been asked if I want to join a trial of AI, so a lot to think about. I hope your op goes well on Tuesday.

  • Have you already had your op. What is the trial.  I’m down for the onco test.
Fingers crossed All goes well for you x

  • Not had the op yet - I had a biopsy on the lump and the lymph nodes at my first appointment. Two weeks later I met my consultant and she said the cancer is hormonal and I am suitable for the trial which is for an aromatase inhibitor. Once my op is scheduled I will take the AI for ten days before the op and if the cancer has shrunk, I will be invited to join the treatment part of the trial. I don't think I have anything to lose by joining it.
