Oncotype test

Hi Babesintheboob, 

I had the Oncotype test a few weeks back after 3 lumps removed and my surgeon just said they would send a sample for testing and I assumed that as all the lumps had tested here the same HER2 negative ER positive that one sample covered all of them as when told the results which I received after 3 weeks wait were that Oncotype test was 13 no mention of more than one result so no chemo only Radiotherapy. Were all your pathology results the same could they have been different, have to say not heard of different lumps different cancers. Sorry probably not much help, hope you hear soon.... 

Hi - I had oncotype testing a month ago and have now started chemo.

I only had the one lump - but I do know someone that had different sorts of limps, so I guess it's possible to get different results? Seems strange they're not all tested/ results received together though? How long has it been? My results appt for oncotype was exactly 2 weeks after my post op appt where they suggested the oncotype test. Maybe call BCN on Tues and see is anything has come in since? Fingers crossed for more low scores x

I’ve no idea BCN just said I had to wait for all four to come back so confused.

HI Laura76, I waited 3 weeks for my Onco result.  Sorry you're still waiting but as they are sent to the States I was told it would be at 3-4 weeks.  Not much help I know and I hope yours are quicker but try not to worry to much, chat with your BCN they are really helpful. Good luck 

Thank you so much for your reply , I’m finding this wait way worse than original diagnosis x did your oncologist ring you or did you have to wait for next appointment? 

I had a phone appt booked with the Oncologist and was given the results then.  I was the same waiting to see if I would have to have Chemo as well as Radiotherapy it's no fun waiting to hear.  At least with my original diagnosis I wasn't expecting it so it was a shock but I was given all the treatment info then so no waiting.. 

Yes I no hun , I hat rang ny oncologist sec she’s told me it’s deffo there showing on portal now so fingers crossed it shouldn’t be to much longer now , did they say give you a score to look to they told me under 26 would not require chemo ? But maybe my age I’m 48 thibk age makes a difference, did you end up getting chemo if you don’t mind me asking x
