Hi
I’m in for a lumpectomy on 3 May. Last year I was diagnosed with mild bronchiectasis. It’s a lung deficiency. I’m not in need of inhalers so it is manageable. But the flare ups I think caused by stress and anxiety are causing a very tickly cough and dry throat which is constant. I’m over worrying that due to this the anaesthetic will cause breathing difficulties. Has anyone had breathing difficulties and been ok during anaesthetic x
I had chest problems all through chemo - coughing etc and have a history of chest ailments - although no inhalers.
I mentioned concerns about my lungs before I went for my op. Especially as I was feeling low with sleepless nights etc. with coughing.
I was told that the anaesthesia is very light as it isn’t a long op. And not to worry. I was fine! Just mention your concerns to the anaesthetist and during your pre op. Good luck - try not to worry xx
