I was diagnosed in Jan with TNBC. I’ve had 3 x EC and was due to start 12 weeks of carbo/ pax two weeks ago but my liver function figure is very high. I’ve had blood tests everyday this week and have been told today that they are giving me another week off, I am seeing my oncologist on Friday anyway but am really worried both about the delay in treatment and whether it has caused any issues with my liver
The worry is understandable, and your liver may indeed feeling some stress, but that does not necessarily mean permanent damage. When you see the oncologist, ask them to go over this point specifically, as well as what it means for treatment from now on.
By the way, a week's delay is fine. They do it for other things too, such as too low white cells count, it's part of their routine.
