  • Hi

I had paclitaxel a while back. Hated it as I couldn't stay awake on it. Missed a couple of visits from my daughter and grand daughter  as I was fast asleep.  I must have looked drunk too, as I weaved my way to the onco suite for treatment, as I kept losing my balance.

The pain you mention. I had sharp pains, but these started after my surgery and were nerves knitting together. However, 7 years later I still get sharp pains, some of which make me jump they are so strong. I think of them as electric shock-like. I have nerve damage from various treatments so am used to them but they still take me by surprise sometimes. Do report it either to your BC nurse, or oncologist, or your GP. They may be able to help, but even if they can't at least they are aware of what the paclitaxel side effects are for you.

Wore cold cap, still lost about 50% of hair. Don't fiddle with your hair. I think it encourages it to fall out.

    Good luck
