Hi,

I am not quite 2 weeks post mastectomy, and although I 'have a go' at the physio every day, I am finding it quite difficult and painful.and am ont doing 5 sets of all exercises 3 times a day

I am paranoid about 'scar tissue forming' and not getting back the 'full range of movement' but I dont' know whether right now I am expecting too much of myself or whether I just need to try harder and more consistently?

Any helpful words of advice would b appreciated

Thanks in anticipation

  • These instructions on how to do the exercises state on page 4, "You shouldn’t feel pain when doing the exercises. However, a stretching or pulling sensation is normal." On the same page it also says, "Don’t worry if you can’t manage to do all the exercises every time" and, "Do as much as you feel you can."

To be on the safe side, I'd talk to the nurse about it. She may advise taking painkillers (also mentioned in the instructions) or give advise on how to do the exercises so that you don't find yourself in this much of discomfort.

  • Hi GreyCats,

I've read the instructions, I follow the guidance, as far as I am able.

I think maybe I was just looking for a personal similar exxperience at a low point whilst over tired.

  • I get that. I hope things are better today.
