Hello, I have 2 sessions of Chemo left.  My last session was Docetaxel and my taste buds are all up the shoot, I have very little appetite and the little I am eating, is going straight through me.  Can anyone recommend a High Protein Shake? Thanks Jo.

  • Hi jodo72

i would recommend speaking to breast nurse first. Perhaps she can advise or point you in direction of dietician if that’s required. You might need loperamide to help with the loose stools also. Someone might reply here also if they have experienced this and on any supplements

     Best wishes x

  • I would call your cancer chemo nurse/ unit and ask if you could speak to a dietician to make sure that you are getting the right balance of nutrients/ shake

  • You can also try some peptides. Those are tiny fragments of proteins used for muscle building and some other problems.
Some of them have healing properties and help to build up the tissues in muscles and increase the blood flow. It’s easier for our body to absorb peptides because they are some simple short chains of two or more amino acids. You can take a look at them here https://paradigmpeptides.com/.
They might be a good option for you since your body will not have to deal with long and heavy proteins. Peptides are a good thing to start with, and then you can proceed to protein shakes and stuff.
