Hi
I had my first session of chemo on the 10th March and noticed afterwards that I felt like I had food caught at the back of my throat. it cleared after several days.
Once again after chemo 2 it’s back.
It’s so annoying and uncomfortable. I see there were discussions on this site about 5 years ago, as this being a side effect of Chemo
I anyone else suffering from this currently?
Regards
Sandra
I found it difficult to swallow towards the end of chemo and there wasn't much to help. It got better within a few weeks of finishing chemo though so stick in there.
Thank you for your replying.
It’s just another thing to have to put up with!
I hope your doing well after your chemo

Hi
This is what I’ve been having recently after my first chemo on 23rd March , I had mouth ulcers too , it ended up excruciatingly painful and I couldn’t swallow it was so bad in my chest and back too
. At the beginning I was given omeprazole which helped my stomach symptoms but think there was damage to my throat by that point !
I’ve just started antibiotics and have gaviscon liquid , Ive started to pick up a bit now
I’d definitely ask for the above ( maybe not the abx tho) as my nurse had said she thought it was oesophagitis caused by the steroids but also the chemo itself
love L xx
Thanks for the advice.
It’s one side effect I didn’t know may happen. X
