Hi , struggling a bit . I’ve been onTamoxifen since January and my body is aching all over . Any suggestions ? I’m on Hiprex because of my never ending bladder infections ( seems to be under control ) but this aching . Dear oh dear .

Suggestions gratefully received .

  • Yes I ache. I have a bad hip and have not seen my consultant for nearly 2 1/2 years due to covid. I used to get steroids put inmy back. I have aches. I find I have to sleep on my back now. Can't sleep left side cos of boob and hip, can't sleep right side as getting horrid pulling aches in boob. Can wake up with a very achy right upper arm although not sleeping on it. Also get swollen ankles. My sleep is rubbish now so being tired doesn't help. I've been on tamoxifen since July. It does get a little better as I found it took a good 4-5 months for my system to get used to it. Are you taking the same brand? Or is it different? Different brands can affect you a lot according to the 'oestrogen reducing meds' thread. Also when do you take it? Sorry have probably asked more questions than helped! X

  • Hj @tiredminion I have been on Relon Chem brand and always take in the morning . Shall I switch to the evening do you think ?
Also I got Covid 4 weeks ago , so maybe this is something to do with it .
At first I seemed ok with Tamoxifen , it’s just this last week .

    Oh dear

  • I’m taken ng letrozole. The side effects really get me down   But we have to take it my latest problems are rib pain bloating and full of gas   Thought I had uti but gp said no but there was tiny amount of blood you could not see   Are your bladder infections really bad does your gp  give you antibiotics xx

  • I ended up seeing a gynocologist who was brilliant . I am now in one tablet of Hiprex twice a day . Bloody game changer . Weird tablet to take but for me it’s so worth it .
I haven’t had a bladder infection in over 8 weeks . Unbelievable for me .

  • I do think trial and error could help. I switched to an evening as I took it first thing and had frequent spells of nausea and dizziness. Now I have it after dinner on full tum. Its up to you if you want to change brands. I was prescribed Wockhardt and didn't have any major issues so now have this specified on prescription and my pharmacist knows. It could just be your body adjusting. X
