Hi, has anyone suffered with watery eyes through chemo?  If so was there any eyedrops that helped? I finished my chemo 2 weeks ago but my eyes are still constantly watery and I have tears running down my cheeks.  It looks like I am crying all the time x

  • Hi, I suffered with this and nothing helped. I now think it was related to not having eyelashes as since they came back it’s much better.

  • It's such a nuisance and I think you are probably correct.  I hope my eyelashes don't take too long to grow back x

  • Really is horrible. I got some relief from XL visuagel and Theloz Duo eye drops but it didn’t cure it, drove me mad as it wasn’t worth even putting make up on which just made me look even worse!! Xxx

  • Hi I had this problem and was told it was dry eye problem so used drops for dry eyes from the unit then boots they helped a lot . I know it sounds silly Upside down Watering eyes / dry eye drops  but worth a try

  • I had it too, and was told that chemo damages the meibomian  glands in the eyelids They normally produce thicker tears which coat the eye. When they become blocked the eye gets dry, and to compensate a lot of watery tears are produced. The optician can supply you with heating pads which you put on your eyes at least once per day, being careful not to make it too hot, and then you massage the eyelids top and bottom after about 10 minutes. The eye Hosp told me to do this and it really helps. Good luck. Xx(as well as the dry eye drops. —- you might be able to get the GP to prescribe)

Onwards and flatwards (don't do hills) and keep walking if you can!

  • Exactly what I was told! X
