So far, I have had 8 injections of herceptin but not without issues. They halted my injections over Christmas as I had had palpitations. So they did an ECG which did not show any abnormalities.
It has now been halted again because my Muga heart scan showed a decrease in heart function. The herceptin has also affected my sinuses and my hearing has been effected because of the pressure behind the eardrum which occasionally gives me earache. I have also had chest pain in the heart area so am now waiting to have an echocardiogram. Has anyone else experienced hearing loss with herceptin? Have been using otovent device to help release the pressure with no real benefit.
This is all with the added complication of a persistent cough which started halfway through radiotherapy in December and has continued through the last 3 months and only controlled by inhalers nasal drops and cough sweets and still persists.
Hi Babafudge Imnoticed your post hasn't had any replies yet and it's slipped down as the site is busy. I am on Herceptin but not experienced any hearing issues myself. But, my reply will bump you post up so hopefully someone with the right experience will be along soon.
