I was told my breast cancer has come back after nearly 4 years clear. Obviously I was devastated but after a PET-CT scan and ultrasound thankfully the cancer has not spread anywhere else. It is treatable and just wondered if anyone else has had this treatment ?
I’ve not been in the site for a while but just noticed your post. Sometimes when the site is busy some posts get lost in the middle but just commenting to bring it back up and hopefully someone may have some experiences/advice. I was slight different in that my 2nd diagnosis was immediately after treatment for my first although more than likely the 2nd was there alongside the first just was missed due to very dense bread tissue. I’ve had both sides treated separately - hope that helps.
Hi, I have just had treatment for the 2nd time, having had DCIS 6 years ago. This time around it was my left breast and a different type of cancer, for which I had a lumpectomy and radiotherapy. I am now cancer free, but with a few side effects from the radiotherapy.
Apparently, it's uncommon to get it twice, but it does happen (according to my consultant).
Good luck with your treatment x
