Hi, I was wondering if anyone can help me out.
I've found a lump under my armpit on the 12th of February and it started off small but has grown. It is quite hard. I was wondering if anyone could share their experiences with me. I really wish it isn't cancer as I'm so so scared. My doctor is saying there is a chance it could be.
Has your doctor referred you? If so, have you been given an appointment? The only way to know for sure would be for them to look and take a biopsy, but, depending on the size of the thing, it could be one of several other things, a lot of them completely benign. Your GP is right to go on the side of caution and admit that this could be cancer, but that does not mean it's a probability, only a possibility, one out of everything else it could well be. But, you need definite answers and the sooner the better, so if you have had no referral yet or not been told when your appointment is, contact the doctor again (for the referral) or the breast clinic (for the appointment.)
Welcome, sorry you find yourself here. You don’t say if the lump hurts? I have had a lump in my armpit about 25 years ago and it turned out to be sebaceous cyst. It grew quite quickly and was quite hard but it was also sore. It was removed under a local and was fine. It could be many things, it’s great you’re being referred and getting it checked out properly, hope it’s something simple, hard not to worry but try hard to wait and see how it pans out, all the best x
Hi Haaych,
I had the same thing in Nov, I had covid at the time it's v common for people who have covod or have just had the vaccine that lumps can appear.
Mine did not go down at all and I had a scan in Dec, and then another one in Feb with a biopsy, sadly mine is cancer but I know myself 2 people who have had lumps and they have either been a cyst or benign, so try not to worry at all, just say you would prefer if you could have a biopsy as it will give you a clearer answer sooner.
Take care, xx
