Hi everyone

I finished my treatment 30th December and now on hormone therapy to reduce risk of reoccurrence. Bringing on early menopause is tough, I feel confused all the time, do silly things like my brain isn’t engaging as it should with simple tasks and my mood isn’t great. I feel my tolerance with my kids is very short and I feel grumpy quite a lot of the time, this is the internet exact opposite to how I thought I would be after treatment finished.

I was wondering if anyone can relate and if they are taking anything to help, vitamins etc. I can deal with aches and pains and hot sweats I just don’t like how I’m feeling Pensive

  • Hi boxie

Do you mind me asking how old you are? Guessing born 83?

just wondered as I’ll be having hormone therapy also and assumed I’d be on tamoxifen (I’m 39) but wondered about being offered suppression and exemestane…did you have to ask for this or were both options offered?

    thanks

  • Hi

im 38, my oncologist wanted to start me on exemestane and see how I get on with it. I also have monthly zoladex injections.

  • Thanks- this is the route I am hopi g to go down as the recurrence rate is slightly better than with tamoxifen but I have read that the side effects can be unpleasant and extreme. I hope yours settle down after a few months.

  • Thankyou! I would rather stay on it but something to help low mood would be great! X
