Hi Everyone
I eventually got the results of oncotype test - 21 - and have been advised I don’t need chemo. The results took 4 weeks as the original tissue sent was no good. They had to use tissue taken during my mastectomy. My surgery was on 27 January and I started Letrozole on 30 December; oncologist checked and said this was fine - has anyone else heard this? I’m going to hospital tomorrow to find out about radiotherapy - does anyone know how long it will last - is it 3 weeks or can it be longer/shorter?
Thank you, June x
Hi Juned
I didn't need chemo either. My radio was 5 days. I met people there who had a whole variety of times for radio. A specific plan will be made for you.
I had a lumpectomy and started letrazole a month afterwards. Just been told its wrong med for me as not menopausal so switched to tamoxifen. I was having a lot of interrupted sleep and hot flushes that I'd never had before. That was worse than everything else for me but everyone's different.
Best of luck and sending hugs. It's natural to worry, it's a huge thing you're going through.
Best wishes
