Has the cancer grown

So I went to see my oncologist Wednesday for check up, had clinical examination she measured the lump with special device and thought it might have grown, she fetched another Dr in who I've seen before too and she measured it, she also got different measurements (slightly bigger) than my original ones from MRI scan I had done just before start of chemo treatment. (I got diagnosed in November last year with stage 3 triple negative breast cancer). Obviously this has now put me back, thinking is the chemo working. I've had 3 sessions of FEC, I'm now due to start on T (docetaxel) this morning. Oncologist has now referred me for another MRI within next 2 weeks. So when I go see her in 3 weeks time she give proper measurements of it then. Now I know I'm only half way through treatment but I've heard that tumor can shrink after just having 2 or 3 chemo. I've still got further 4 more chemos after today's. Its just the more added stress, upset, emotions turned me upside down thinking have I or am I going through all these treatments and they not working for me. Just having a vent but I'm so upset.

  • Please don't be despondent.  Half way through my chemotherapy I had a scan where they said they couldn't see any change. My heart sank. They did 2 Mammogram straight after and when I saw the Oncologist 2 weeks later it turned out it had shrunk by a third. Wait till the MRI then you will know with more certainty.  I wish you well.  Pray

  • Thank you, yes it's just bit disheartening when you going through all this suffering with side effects from chemo but onwards and upwards and I've still got few more treatments to go xx
