Has anyone had skin sensitivity whilst on letrozole? My skin has gone very sensitive keep breaking out in itchy rashes & a type of contact dermatitis driving me mad!!

  • Yes! I was speaking to my BCN today about it. Both my forearms are red, insanely itchy and sore. I find myself scratching it subconsciously. She’s going to speak to my oncologist to see if there’s anything they can do.

  • Yes but I'm on tamoxifen. Had lovely rash like 2 days before Xmas. I was at my partners so couldn't access GP or anything. It was on my sides and tum and thighs. So itchy. My skin became very dry literally all over my tum, legs, boobs. She prescribed me E45 Itch cream which is just as well as its £25 (having  cancer is costly but thats another story). I also got some stronger anti histamines but i do struggle to swallow pills even chopping them up. I've used E45 for years but my skin just didn't like it. Some say its the lanolin. I bought some CeraVe moisture lotion and have been gently loofering but not boobs and slapping on the moisture lotion. Was told that this is because of the loss of oestrogen in system. Get some stronger antihistamine and pick your cream. Its taken me until now for it to improve. Also make sure you are well hydrated in the day x

  • Its driving me mad doesnt happen all the time having to take antihistamines! I have read that lack of oestrogen can cause skin irritation so I guess its linked to that & everything is drying up!!! Thanks for replying :)

  • Thank you will give it a go!
