Hello everyone!
Im due to have my PICC line fitted on Tuesday 22nd and im so, so anxious for this to be done, doctor has prescribed 2mg diazapm to take before hand. Just want to know if anyone else needed it and is it ok to take as the doctor said to mention it before the procedure? x x
Hi Scrivs
I didn't have PICC line but my side effects from first chemo were pretty severe. I had a really bad migraine and I don't get migraines. This made me anxious about the next ones, so I asked for something to help with this. I was given diazepam for night before and an hour before the second chemo. Everything was all right that time as they gave me aprepitant as support med, which totally transformed the experience. I can't see that it would be a problem for putting I the the PICC. but it is good practice to make sure that your medical team know all the meds that you are on. So do tell them. It will also alert them to the fact that you are anxious about the procedure, so that they can give you extra explanations, support and distractions as necessary.
You can do this, and you will. We are all routing for you.
All the best
