I had my first chemotherapy treatment on Wednesday and tried the cold cap. I did persevere and get used to it managed No. 8 all the way through it but found the 2 hours cool down the worst with headache and head felt really heavy. I have now got a neck cushion for next time. My hair was obviously still wet when we left I put my hood up but wondered if I should wear a hat. I am washing my hair with simple gentle shampoo should I use a conditioner as well. The thought of losing my hair I think is always on my mind.
Thankyou Debbie
Hi I had my first one on Thursday and used my bobble hat on way home to warm my head which was nice. Had a cracking headache that night as well as the nausea so not sure whether the headache was cold cap or drug related but am going to persevere with cold cap. I’ve been using the Simple shampoo & conditioner every day as I wake up looking like a scarecrow with my fine hair so feel the need to wash it but not been blowdrying. A friend also gave me a silk cap to start wearing at night to help capture any hair loss but not tried it yet.
