  1. Quick back story, Was diagnosed in sept 21  (after being misdiagnosed since April 21) mastectomy and SNB (1/3 positive) Nov 21 26mm invasive with a total of 92mm (non ivasive and invasive) was due to start chemo in the Jan 22 but my youngest DD got covid and then so did I, so chemo was deferred until Feb 22. Started chemotherapy last week, having 5FEC-T and then on the 4th cycle I will start Herceptin.
  2. Just really wanted some positive vibes tbh as although yes I know my cancer has a positive outcome at the end of all the treatments (consultant said 98% survival rate for the next 10 years), it is a very scary place to be especially when I have children at home and my partner lives elsewhere, it's harder that I am not allowed to bring anybody with me while I have the chemotherapy due to covid restrictions etc. Anyway, I hope everyone is doing ok. Thank you for reading x
  • Oh my nose is constantly running, dident think it might be the nose hairs,or lack of them

Defnitely hoping we all have a better day

  • Evening Tizzy..   So sorry that you're having a tough time at the moment and you have to drive all that way, especially with fuel being so expensive.

Our fuel costs are similar to go to our hospital. As I am now unemployed I was told by the hospital I could get help with travel costs. Saying that I put the form in a while back and still heard nothing so who knows !

Hope you feel a bit better tomorrow.

    Lots of love

    Julie

  • Christina, I hope you're feeling ok today and enjoying being home again.. It's good they are giving you some time to recover.. You're body definitely needs it. When you think about our bodies are pretty amazing what they go through and keep going..

Sending lots of love to you

  • Morning Julie

    Hope you are okay today.

Didn't sleep too well but up and going to get ready and do a bit of shopping and pick my daughter up for lunch.

It was 2 years yesterday since I lost my mum. It was during 1st lockdown and up until the night she passed away we hadn't been able to see her for 10 weeks.  We did get in that night with full PPE on and for half an hour between us. It wasn't covid just dementia and old age and she was 92. Just felt a bit sad yesterday thinking about her.

Today will be better and thankfully bowels are back to normal and not worried about that now.

Tum still a bit sore but bearable.

Hoping to get a few days when I feel good.

Hope everyone else are well and have a good day xxxHeartHeartHeart

  • Aw Christina, Not surprising you were sad yesterday..

My mum has been in a care home since Covid. She is in Lancashire near my brother and I am in Devon so we struggled to see Mum.. Missed her very much as I am now. Not seen her since Christmas and looks like it's going to be a few more months yet..

Great to hear you're out for lunch with your daughter. A great tonic for you...

Last Chemo for me tomorrow. Can't believe it but so relieved.. Last lot of steroids, anti sickness and injections after this. Will feel strange having no routine.. But so good !

Here's to more good days for you Kissing heart

    Lots of love Julie

  • Aw Julie.

It's sad you can't see her but at least like my mum you know she is getting cared for. Hopefully you will get to see her soon.

Lots of luck for tomorrow, mentally must be good to know it's the last one with all the routine that brings.

Had a better day today thanks although when I came home I had to lie down. Just taking its time to get my energy back up.

    Sending love and hugs xxxHeartHeart

  • Afternoon ladies

Sorry to hear about your Mom, Christina, and such a shame for you Julie with your Mom so far away in a care home. It's at these difficult times that we miss them the most.

My Mom is living at home with support provided in her own home. I used to be able to visit her every week giving her support myself. But now it's only about every 3 weeks ( the best week just before the next cycle). Still that's not so bad.

I hope Christina that you've had a good lunch and enjoyed your time with your daughter and you get to enjoy a few more good days.

Julie. Last chemo tomorrow! Well done! I hope all goes wel for you Relaxed️

My son is popping in to see me on his way back from work. Really looking forward to seeing him.

I hope you have a good evening

  • Hi Dee

I feel you do turn the corner after your last injection. Hope you get your run in tomorrow and it will make you feel better.

I just have 2 more to go although delayed now due to my hospital stint. Hoping my last 2 will be in June or early July then I can get myself geared up for surgery. They will be all over before we know it.

    Sending love and hugs.

    Christina xxHeartHeart

  • Strangely, looking back it does seem to have gone quickly. But I was lucky with my first 3 Chemo and was up out walking a few days later and side effects were less. As you say the Jabs aren't much fun and loss of taste is a nightmare.

We're off out for a walk before my chemo at 1.30. Hope it's warmer as I wear a skirt to have my Phesgo injection..

Hope you get out and enjoy your run.

Night ladies. Lots of love Heartbeat
