  1. Quick back story, Was diagnosed in sept 21  (after being misdiagnosed since April 21) mastectomy and SNB (1/3 positive) Nov 21 26mm invasive with a total of 92mm (non ivasive and invasive) was due to start chemo in the Jan 22 but my youngest DD got covid and then so did I, so chemo was deferred until Feb 22. Started chemotherapy last week, having 5FEC-T and then on the 4th cycle I will start Herceptin.
  2. Just really wanted some positive vibes tbh as although yes I know my cancer has a positive outcome at the end of all the treatments (consultant said 98% survival rate for the next 10 years), it is a very scary place to be especially when I have children at home and my partner lives elsewhere, it's harder that I am not allowed to bring anybody with me while I have the chemotherapy due to covid restrictions etc. Anyway, I hope everyone is doing ok. Thank you for reading x
  • Yummy cake !  So glad you've had a lovely Easter with your girls & family..

Annoying about the car. Just an idea, Couldn't  you do lateral flow tests instead ? My hospital normally gives me a pcr test to do in advance 2 days before but they didnt have any for May so they told me to do a lateral flow instead..

I suppose it doesn't make so much difference as I do a lateral flow day of treatment too.

Hope you manage to sort it HuggingHugging

  • Tizzy10  is it typical for  the picc line arm to ache after you use it,   I have had mine for four days so early days in getting used to it.

  • Hi Tizzy. Sounds like you had a great Easter Sundsy.

Hope you get your battery sorted and you get your treatment.

I usually just do a LFT on the morning of my treatment.

Hope your treatment goes well this week.

  • Hi  I can do lateral flows but I don't know if our hospital will except that. I cant speak with chemo till tomorrow with it being bank holiday too.

Hi , I don't have a picc line so with the chemo going straight into my viens it's knackered them, docetaxol is suppose to be easier on the arm so I'm feeling hopefull for that xx

Thank you  I'm going to phone my team up romorrow and find out what's happening xx

  • Oops sorry  Tizzy10 I miss understood.

  • That's ok  no need to apologise, I hope you have a great day/week xx

  • Morning Dee

Glad you had a great weekend away.

Will be strange to stop work but you will get used to it and be glad of it.

I retired 6 years ago so thankfully don't need to work.

Enjoy your Bank Holiday. I am heading to see my 2 brothers who live at the seaside. Sets me up for my 3rd Chemo tomorrow.

Sending positive thoughts to all xxxRainbowRainbow

  • Just spoke with my chemo team, chemo has been deferred for a week as they need the echo reading before hand anyway. So pcr cancelled and bloods cancelled until next week.

  • Are you disappointed at that Tizzy. Was this your 4th you were getting and about to start Docetaxol?

My Docetsxol starts on 10th May and I have a wee break in Oban planned 5th to 9th so if they want an Echo or ECG on heart I am hoping it's before that. Xx
