Hi,

Has anyone had a therapeutic mammoplasty to treat affected the breast,  and had the same procedure on other breast which has previously had radiotherapy? I hope that makes sense. Thank you Pray

  • Sorry no one has replied, hopefully this will bump you back up to the front page and get you some relevant answers.  Love from Ann

  • Hi Karen22, on 8th Feb, I had lumpectomy and lymph node removal right side and then therapeutic mammoplasty on both breasts but not yet had radiotherapy as op only last week  and not had response on margins yet.  Have to say all went well and pleased with what I can see at the moment 9 days in.  Was so pleased they did both at same time didn't fancy having to have other one reduced 6 to 12 months down the line.

  • Thanks for the reply. I was due to have a TM but now saying it maybe difficult to get symmetry as the other breast had radiotherapy 8 years ago. So having lumpectomy first, then see what happens. Best wishes for your recovery.

  • Hope all goes well with yours and wishing you a speedy recovery.

    Hi

New to group today.  I had therapeutic mammoplasty to treat affected breast left side with 3 affected areas and had same procedure on right side to affected breast.  Had operation end of November 21 and  finished radiotherapy to left side last week.  Nipple had to be removed on left side.  Results ok could have been worse doesnt look to bad. Took a while to recover from surgery left very uncomfortable having to deal with pain in both sides.  Now looking forward to be able to wear a proper bra again and feel a bit more feminine
